Whitcliffe Mount Home : Our School : Pupils With Disabilities
Pupils With Disabilities
Whitcliffe Mount operates the usual admission arrangements which apply to all Kirklees schools.
The school has previously welcomed some pupils with minor physical disabilities and their access to the building has been aided by the provision of a ramp at the front of the school. In addition, most of the ground floor is easily accessible whilst additional signage has also been provided.
The school building is currently awaiting part re-building and part major refurbishment under the Government's Building Schools for the Future scheme. However, at the current time, the first and second floors are only accessible by staircases.
The new school building, which is anticipated around 2011, will clearly need to comply with disability regulations.
