Year 9

    Autumn Term
  • TV and Film Themes: Using TV and film techniques to create drama
  • Teenage Crime: Reasons and consequences
  • Eye Contact: Using and experimenting with dramatic silence
  • Alcohol: A study of addiction
  • Bootcamp: A drama that explores problem teenagers sent away by parents
    Spring Term
  • Narration: Experimenting with telling stories using Jack and the Beanstalk as a model.
  • Breaking Bad News:How this effects parents and students.
  • John Godber: Exploring the work of one of Britain’s playwrights.
  • Barriers: How we use barriers against peer pressure.
  • The wreck of the Migonette: Drama around a real story.
  • Anything to declare?: Creating tension using a drug smuggling scenario.
    Summer Term
  • Comedy: A series of lessons on physical and verbal comedy.
  • Teenage Runaways: An exploration of the reasons for people leaving home.
  • Growing Up: A series of lessons about the pressure of growing up.
  • Victorian London and the Costermongers: A historical project about London’s poor

Year 10

    Autumn Term
  • Mystery Pictures: Students are introduced by teacher in role to the case of a disturbed young girl. Students will devise , act and perform using various explorative strategies.
  • A Family at War: Students explore a family’s reaction to the horrific events of World War One. Devising – performing and the use of further explorative strategies are involved .
    Spring Term
  • John Godber: A deeper look at Godbers work using his plays ‘Teechers’ and ‘Bouncers’ using multi role play skills.
  • Greek Tragedy: An exploration of the origins of all western drama.
    Summer Term
  • The Sound of Silence: In response to the lyrics of the famous song and concentrating on speech and movement. Students create a play for a performance to a chosen audience.

Year 11

    Autumn Term
  • Commedia Dell Arte: An exploration of this influential style of comedy
  • The Fool on the Hill: Students create an in depth play in response to the lyrics of the famous song. Students must concentrate on using movement , imagination , focus , character history and writing in role.
    Spring Term
  • Alan Ayckbourne: Students will explore and perform the work of Britain’s best known playwright .
    Summer Term
  • Students will concentrate on finishing and improving written coursework.
