 Department Information - Technology

 
​The Design and Technology Department at Whitcliffe Mount is a well established department with an ever improving array of resources and an experienced team of teaching staff that have a range of specialisms. We are also supported by 2 full time technicians.
 

 Curriculum Outline

 
In year 9 pupils are taught 3 seperate disciplines under the headings of; Food Technology, Textiles and Product Design. This gives them the opportunity to complete key stage 3 in a variety of subject areas some of which they may have little previous knowledge of depending on Middle school experience. At key stage 4 pupils are offered a wide variety of courses listed below.

 Extra Curricular

 
During the last year pupils have enjoyed a variety of experiences as well as the normal after school extension activities we have offered;
  • Clothes show trip (NEC)
  • Rotary Technology tournament
  • Rotary young inventor competition
  • Fashion shows at Huddersfield and Batley
  • Yorkshire sculpture park
  • Focus on food bus visit
  • Scrumptious sandwich competition- Huddersfield Technical College
