eLearning at Whitcliffe Mount

At Whitcliffe Mount we provide all our students with an array of options to aid their education. These can range from basic things like the latest text books to more advanced aids like the latest computer software.

In recent years e-Learning has become a core pillar of education thanks to it’s flexibility and engaging nature. A key aspect of any eLearning system is a VLE or Virtual Learning Environment. A VLE is nothing more than a website containing materials for Students and Staff.
At Whitcliffe Mount we’ve invest a lot in our own VLE known as “eCliffe.”

Brand new for this academic year and launched along side our new main site, the recently revamped eCliffe helps ensure that every child has access to their school work no matter where they are in the world, whilst enabling new learning possibilities.

eCliffe has been designed as a bespoke ecosystem for Whitcliffe Mount. This means it’s been fine-tuned to do exactly what our Students and Staff need.

Here’s a list of some of the things eCliffe can do.

  • Allow access to Class/Homework from any computer in the world.
  • Extra work available in case of a school closure, e.g. 'a snow day'.
  • Electronic hand in of Homework and Assignments. This not only helps students and teachers manage their work, it also helps the environment by cutting down on the volume of printing.
  • A Bespoke design to help the students engage with the site.
  • A safe and secure site for sharing news and photos relevant to the Student Body, e.g. School Trips, Sports Days and Proms.
  • Interactive learning provided in the form of interactive books. These allow the students to learn in a stimulating and fun way while at the same time, Staff can track a student's progress and adjust their learning accordingly.
This is just a brief outline of what eCliffe can do. The key thing for us as a school was to provide our student's with the smartest, most engaging and most fun way to access their work.

Please feel free to have a look around eCliffe and see it for yourself. You’ll need to ask your child to login to eCliffe for you but they all know how to do this thanks to a series of assemblies we’ve given. A reminder just in case can be found on the logon page.
