History at Whitcliffe Mount Business and Enterprise college is very popular and taught successfully both at GCSE and A-Level. The department uses a range of teaching styles and learning experiences and aims to broaden the students understanding of the world around them as well as achieving good exam grades.

History is compulsory in Year 9 and students cover topic areas including The Industrial Revolution, The Empire and Slavery, Politics and Protest and World War One and World War Two.

At GCSE Level students study Medicine Through Time and Weimar and Nazi Germany, and complete two pieces of coursework.  The coursework topics are a local study on Saltaire and Global Terror.                        

At A-Level students study British and European topics.
