Enrichment
What Enrichment means at WMA?
At Whitcliffe Mount Academy, we believe that education is about more than what happens in the classroom. Enrichment is central to our commitment to developing confident, curious and well-rounded young people who are ready to contribute positively to their school, their community and the wider world.
Our enrichment offer is rooted in our core values of Work Hard, Model Kindness and Aim High. We want every student to embrace challenge, support others, pursue their ambitions and recognise that success can be found in many different forms.
Enrichment is designed to broaden horizons, raise aspirations and create opportunities for every student to discover where they belong and what they can achieve. Through sport, performing arts, leadership, creativity, culture, academic enrichment, trips, visits and wider experiences, students are encouraged to explore new interests, develop their talents and experience success beyond the curriculum.
These opportunities help students to Work Hard by showing commitment, perseverance and resilience; to Model Kindness through teamwork, leadership, service and supporting others; and to Aim High by stepping outside their comfort zones, discovering new talents and developing the confidence to pursue their aspirations.
Enrichment gives our students opportunities to build the skills and qualities that will stay with them long after they leave WMA — confidence, resilience, independence, teamwork, leadership and a willingness to try something new. Just as importantly, it creates friendships, strengthens relationships and provides the shared experiences and lasting memories that make belonging to a school community so powerful.
We are ambitious for every student. Our aim is to ensure that background, confidence or previous experience are never barriers to participation. We want every young person at WMA to have access to meaningful experiences that help them recognise their strengths, develop their character and imagine a future full of possibility.
Through our enrichment programme, Student Leadership opportunities, Healthy Active Leadership and BELONG Accreditation, students are not simply encouraged to take part — they are encouraged to participate, contribute, lead and grow.
At WMA, enrichment is not an extra. It is an essential part of how we help every student to Work Hard, Model Kindness, Aim High and become the very best version of themselves.

Enrichment Stamp to Success
Our Enrichment Stamp to Success card encourages students to get involved in the wider life of WMA and rewards regular participation. Students simply choose an activity from our Week A or Week B enrichment timetable, attend the session and ask the club leader to add a stamp to their card. Each visit counts, helping students build confidence, develop new skills, make friends and discover new interests along the way. Once a student collects 16 stamps, they will be entered for the chance to earn a special reward. The aim is simple: get involved, try something new and keep going!

BELONG Accreditation
BELONG at WMA
At Whitcliffe Mount Academy, BELONG is our programme for recognising and celebrating the wider experiences, achievements and contributions that help shape our students beyond the classroom.
The programme is designed to encourage every student to get involved, try something new, contribute to school life and recognise their own personal growth. Through a range of challenges and experiences, students are encouraged to build confidence, develop character and take an active role in the wider life of WMA.
BELONG is closely linked to our core values of Work Hard, Model Kindness and Aim High. Students are encouraged to show commitment and resilience, support and contribute to others, and challenge themselves to go beyond what feels familiar or comfortable.
The programme progresses through Bronze, Silver and Gold accreditation, giving students clear milestones to work towards as they move through Key Stage 3. Each stage encourages students to engage with a broad range of opportunities, including enrichment activities, leadership, community involvement, healthy and active lifestyles, cultural experiences and personal development.
Most importantly, BELONG is about helping every student feel that they are a valued part of our school community. It recognises that success is not only measured through academic outcomes, but also through participation, contribution, character and the confidence to take opportunities when they arise.
Through BELONG, we want our students to leave Key Stage 3 with a stronger sense of who they are, what they can contribute and what they are capable of achieving.
BELONG is about more than taking part — it is about helping every student to Work Hard, Model Kindness, Aim High and truly feel that they belong at WMA.

Student Leadership Team
Student Leadership Team 2026/27
We are incredibly proud of our Student Leadership Team and the way they have embraced their roles with maturity, enthusiasm and a genuine commitment to making a difference at WMA. Following a highly successful application and selection process, our student leaders are already demonstrating what it means to Work Hard, Model Kindness and Aim High, using their voices to represent their peers and help shape the future of our school. Miss Lenk and the team are already hard at work on their first major project, and we are excited to see the impact they will have across the academy this year. Watch this space!
