The Hits Radio 1 Million Steps Challenge
Students from Whitcliffe Mount met after school to walk 8 laps equating to 2 mile around Westend Park! Students pledged to Hits Radio to walk a combined total of 310,800 steps and we went above at 320,000!
We raised an amazing £330 towards this wonderful cause, and we cannot thank everyone who contributed enough!
In total, The Hits radio presenter Sam Thomson and his squad of amazing school kids (Whitcliffe included) from across the UK walked an incredible 11,604,206 steps, totally SMASHING their first 1 Million Steps Schools Challenge 🎉
Cash for Kids Day was amazing, the Steps Challenge contributed to Hits radio raising a phenomenal £1,004,030 – which could be providing food for 182,551 children who could’ve gone hungry this Summer.

Bolton Abbey Trips
As a Humanities Faculty, we feel that it is essential for students to experience History, Geography and RS for themselves in the real world to support them in embedding their learning into real life scenarios. Therefore, with help from the schools’ trustees we are excited to be able to offer a fully funded day for students in Year 7 to visit Bolton Abbey. This opportunity allows students to see the impact of the 16th Century English Reformation in person, the impact of modern tourism on the natural environment and Christian worship in the 21st Century.
The trips will take place as follows:
Clough – Monday 24th June 2024
Grylls – Tuesday 25th June 2024
